26 Sep NEW SEASON’S MEETINGS

We’re now well under way with our new season of monthly talks at the Best Western Eglinton Arms Hotel.

At September’s meeting, our president, Bill Niven, presented a fascinating talk about East Kilbride, Scotland’s first new town, from its inception to development.

Interestingly, East Kilbride is only a few miles east of Eaglesham – which of course was one of Scotland’s earliest planned villages.

At October’s meeting we will welcome Dr Craig Haggart from the University of Glasgow, who will present a talk about Conscripts: The Forgotten Men of the Great War.

The meeting starts at 7.30pm on Wednesday October 19th in the Best Western Eglinton Arms Hotel.

New Executive Committee members

We’d also like to welcome two new members –Paul Duffty and Fraser Hunter – who have recently joined the Society’s Executive Committee.
