The ECS has received funding to purchase a year’s subscription to Zoom Professional which will allow the Society to run monthly online talks.

Secured with thanks to Eaglesham and Waterfoot Community Connections, the sessions start this November as follows:

  • Wednesday 18th November 2020 – Faifley Rocks and the Cochno Stone: A community rock-art project, with Dr Kenny Brophy
  • Wednesday 9th December 2020 – Ben Nevis Observatory 1883-1904 and Scotland’s first national Physics Nobel Prize, with Dr Alec MacKinnon
  • Wednesday 20th January 2021 – Sharing your family history using family history at the Mitchell Library, in particular Glasgow City Archives, with Dr Irene O’Brien
  • Wednesday 17th February 2021 – The murder of the 4th Earl of Eglinton and the aftermath of the feud between the Montgomeries and the Cunninghams, with Roger Griffith
  • Wednesday 17th March 2021 – Skylark IX: Recovery through Recovery. A Dunkirk Little Ship continuing to save lives today with Claire McDade
